My 1st Tri~fold card

Here is my first attempt at making a tri fold card... My son's 2nd Birthday is not until Nov. 15th, but I figured since Cely inspired me to make a tri-fold card I would make his card.
He absolutely adores Mickey Mouse & we are going to Disney for his Birthday around Thanksgiving, anywho...
I used the lovely Penny Ducan's svg for the card. I made my own Tear Bear pattern with SCAL2 and some cereal boxes & made my adorable little bear ( I need to practice on making them) I used the Mickey and Friends cartridge for the ears on my bear and the Mickey character. The #2 is the font, Blades.
I kept it very simple.

Fishing with GG LO

Here is a layout based off of above sketch from sketchablities that I did of my Daughter & my Grandmother.
We call her GG...short for Great Grandma...
My daughter was teaching her how to play the game Let's Go Fishin'
Shhhh, GG is cheating ~ see how she is holding the fishing pole (click photo for a larger view) LOL!
Last pic on the lo is my daughter telling a TALL tale of the size fish she caught when she went fishing for the first time in SC.
Wouldn't be fishin without a TALL tale... LOL!
Thanks for looking!
xxx, Staci
I used Cley's fishing pole svg, one of Penny Ducan's Shapely heart svg's & I am truly sorry, but I don't remeber where I got the side border from. (If anyone knows I would love to give credit)
The font is called Fudger.
The little fish hanging off of the fishing line is made of a small oval and 2 tiny Prima flowers that I cut up to make lips and fins.

Beary Sweet Challenge #10

I just entered my card into the Beary Scrap Challenge #10 ... go vintage.   I just realized my card would qualify due to the distressed look of the gold paper I used on the border punch mat and bird cage from Cely Creating in Carolina, the flourish paper also has a distressed look.  I took a  gold marker and ran it around the edges of the card and the sentiment tag which also adds a vintage look.
I am dying to get some tear bear patterns, but don't have the extra money right now, so to win the random draw for a $20 GC would be awesome!!! Wish me luck!  TFL...xxx

Blowing Bubbles Layout

Here is a two page layout I did using Allison Davis' July Sketch  (lovin her sketches) You MUST check her out if you like to scrap with a "road map" as I call it.
Here is a look at both pages together.... this has to be one of my fav layouts in a while....
The paper pieced bears are from Jills Paper Jems, she has some cute files for sale... check her out!

A look at page one ... I cut the bubbles out of vellum, chalked them with blue on the outer edges added a little blue, pink & green to create a prism look and added crystal stickles ontop of that.

Here is a close up of the vellum bubbles

and here is a look at page two... I placed vellum bubbles on this page also.
I added a circular journal stamp to stick with the round theme.
Still have to fill that in.

Thanks for looking and make sure to check out ...

Water Distressed Cardstock Flowers

Well, when I saw these on Gabrielle's Blog ~ Such a Pretty Mess, I knew that I had to play. I made them all one color, but in the future I will use some complimenting colors. They were so easy peasy, my 5 year old daughter even made one... hers is the yellow one.
Pretty good right! Great project for the little ones they can crumple up the flowers once they are spritzed with the water of glimmer mist.
(she said to me... " you really want me to crumple up this pretty flower???")
I dabbed the edges with my cats eye ink after they were all assembled, I was too excited to see them put together...and a little lazy, really I am an impatient person, I want to see the results right away... no time to detail...LOL! My mom says I am my fathers child... she is like OCD when it comes to detail - scary how different we are... both Aries too. Go figure!
Anyway on to the pics of the flowers...

But on this one below I took a little time and I inked the edges of this one and stamped a flourishy image on each layer of it. When I sprayed it with the water the image faded and ran a bit, but I like the effect it gave it ...a soft look. Now I have to cut out some leaves and make somthing to put them on.
Thanks for looking! Have a Great Holiday!

Thank you easel card

I just recently left my job of almost 10 years to go to another place, it was time to move on. I loved these girls and will miss seeing them dearly every week. My last day I came to work they threw me a little party, everyone had made some type of delicious food (even home made peirogies OMG! were they GOOD!) Any~who, I wanted to send them a thank you to show them how much I appreciated all that and to let them know how much they all have meant to me & that I will miss them.
I hope they like it...

Thanks for looking and have a fabulous holiday weekend!

Freezer Paper Tshirt ~ 2nd post today!

Kira's Kindergarten teacher sent home a letter to say Hi and a small list of items that she wanted the kids to have. One of the items on the list was a large shirt with the childs name on the front for their sloppy projects they do in class (great idea!) Well, being a crafter you all can relate... I could not just simply write her name across the front of the shirt and call it a day ... this is what I came up with...all done with svg's & SCAL2.

Cute right!~ Thanks for looking... more projects to come over the next few days.
Scroll down for todays free SVG! Have a great day!

Kira wanted me to make a gift for her new teacher ... last minute of course she starts Kindergarten tomorrow, so I ran to AC Moore and picked up this cute little wooden box, painted it red (Kira's fav color) add a square of patterned paper to the front and back, wrapped a svg border around the top & glued a paper pieced apple.... WHALA.... simple teacher gift....
