OMG!! Santa brought the Wii

Oh what fun it is.... this is going to be a BIG problem getting my basement done!! We much rather play then work..hee hee! I have some of my area started. We have the base cabinets & counters in part of my craft/office... we have a lot more to go...we have to finish installing the drop ceiling, top cabinets, electric...oh it seems the list is never going to end. I also need a creative way to cover the sink cut out in the counter top so I can actually use it as a work surface. I would like the surface to just flow with no ledges, smooth! Of course the cut out had to be on the counter end that was going to be facing the playroom & tv area, the area where I would do most of my work on so I can work, watch my kids &/or tv. Oh well, where there is a will there is a way!

I made the soda bottle gifts for my daughters Pre-k teacher and the 2 aides & the Magic Reindeer dust for all her classmates. The bottles are so cute and fun to make.

My Cabinets ...

are starting to come home each trip from DH's work... I can't wait until tonight, I think I will have them all! Then I can get to working on arranging them the way I want and start putting all my craft & scrapbooking goodies away so I can get back to scrapping!! Gosh I can't wait!!!

Make your own glue dots...

has anyone seen the trick to making your own glue dots, I came across it a week or two ago somewhere (sorry I don't remember where to give credit) but it sounds like an awesome trick & alot cheaper than buying actual Glue Dots.

You use Aleene's Tack it over & over glue
Take wax paper & drop whatever size drops onto your wax paper
let completely dry (overnight or more) until completely clear....
Whala you have glue dots!!!
To store them just place another piece of wax paper overtop.
Sounds like a good trick...Now if I can only find the glue used to make them.

I may be getting a entire kitchen cabinet display from the home depot to make my srap/office space in the basement!! (DH is a Dept head there so we can get a good deal) It is a Merlot colored red with black silestone counter tops & back splash --- Oooohhh Aaahhhh, pretty right!? & it will work well down there because in the kids area which is going to be right next to my work area the colors are all primary and black, the tv area is black leather.. so I am pretty set... I hope we can get it.. I should know by tonight if I am getting it and then I should be back to scrapping before Christmas!!!! Yippie, I am jonesing looking at all the blogs full of beautiful work that everyone does & scratching to try some of those great sketches I come across...Gosh I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here is is pic of the basement so far that I was supposed to post last Friday but never got to it.. actually I forgot about it until now... also the link to the before pic post.. The very back of the basement is where my scrap/office will go. What a difference ay!!??

I did not find out about the cabinets last night... nothing happened with the reset so I need to wait some more..UGHHHH anticipation is a killer! LOL

The basement saga continues...

Well, we are getting there! We have the carpet layed in the TV area and part of the play area... I am probably going to put those brightly colored rubber puzzle shaped mats that connect together down in the rest of the play area. We have my parents old leather chair and love seat w/ their old rought~iron coffee table in our tv area, now alls we have to get is a nice 42" or 46" lcd flat pannel tv...

I am so jonesing for my scrap area to get done so I can catch up playing catch up with all my scrapbooking and try to start my Aunts wedding album that I am figuring she may get on her 1st anniversary at the rate I am going! tee~hee!

Halloween

Kira had a good time trick~or~treating & Aiden just wanted to eat all the candy. He would head for the treat bowl and I would move it and he would hollar at me... yes already he is yelling at me. The pic of Aiden by himself is him stealing candy out of the bowl.

Kira's Halloween Parade @ Pre-K

The teacher had them get together in a group so the parents can take some pics... this is the best I could get due to so many people there and I could not leave the baby in his stroller alone.... It's a cute one. Kira is the last one on the left side next to her teacher.. she is a pretty pirate. Once I get Aiden dressed later I will take a shot of the two of them together... he is going to be her parrot. Aren't I clever... tee~hee!

Aidens Christening...

was great!! It went off without a hitch! I thought my house would be stuffed like a can of sardines, but it was fine... we got a large space in the basement cleared out and set up some tables and chairs... the kids played with all the toys and it was all good!!! I have to take a better pic of Aiden in his little white suit and post it... he looked so handsome. :0) Now that that is over we can get back to finishing up the basement, not to much more to go!! Joe says he wants it done by or before Christmas... That is deffinetly do-able!!! Yeah I might be able to scrap again soon.

So busy...

We have been so busy the last week or two getting ready for Aidens Christening. I have been scrubbing the house, moving all kinds of stuff into the basement and getting it organized, shopping for all the food (yes I am cooking for 50 something people!!! CRAZY I know!!!), making the candy bar favors. Shopping for outfits for everyone, painting the basement walls & floor, cleaning the garbage out of the basement (thank goodness Joe took off from work this week!) On top of all that I had to find an outfit to dress Kira as a scarecrow on Fri for the Fall Festival at school (should be cute I will post pic of her).
I was hoping for nice weather on Sunday, but looks like I will be cramming all those people into my little house! UGH!!! On a brighter note, the basement is almost done, so we are going to set up some tables and chairs down there and some people can hang down there & watch football and some can stay upstairs and mingle. Do what ya gotta do! Right??? Well off to cut up some chicken...

Tell me what you think...

I made this candy bar favor for my son's Baptism in Oct. Do you think I need to add anything else or change anything? I am going to either chalk or ink the sides too. This is just a draft so to speak. :0) Sorry for the blurry pic.

I wrapped the candy bar in aluminum foil first, to cover the brown wrapper. Created a file in SCAL2 (LOVE SCAL2) for the wrapper and then embossed it with the swiss dots cuttlebug folder. Finished off with a ribbon tied around it.

How do you store & ...

find the svg's you download???? I have all my files on a removable drive in folders according to the svg ie; holiday, borders, hearts, flourishes, etc., but darned if I know exactly what each individual file looks like unless I open it up in either SCAL or INKSCAPE. That takes a lot of time! Need some ideas please....

Something wrong with my visitor counter!!???

There is no way that it is up to 11,900 hits. It was just at 180-something last night. I think there is a boo boo somewhere!!!! How do I get that fixed?? Anyone know?

This is a picture of Kira leaving school after her first day with one of the para's from her class...

she had a great first day~ She loved it and is so excited to go back tomorrow. She wants to do homework badly ~ LOL, boy will things change in the future ~ She made lots of friends. She was a little disapointed that someone else got to take Buddy Bear home before her. That is the class bear that goes home with each kid and they have to read a story to the bear and write in his journal what was read and some other details of his trip home. Sheeeeeeeeeewwwwww, thank goodness that went smooth!

Kira's First Day of Pre-k

The date on the pic is wrong - should be 9/8/09

It was an uneventful send off, she gave hugs and kisses and off with the para she went, only turning around when I hollared out "bye boog, have a good day!!!!" Joe came home early to take her and pick her up. I shed a few tears, but not as bad as I thought I would be. We are going to take her out to dinner to her favorite... ~Chinese~ and let her tell us all about her first day. OMG, my baby girl is off to school!!!!

Basement update

Mom, Dad and gram came over yesterday so Dad could help us with the basement again and mom & gram could watch the kids. It's getting there! We have 95% of the sheetrock up, taped and spakled! We just have to finish boxing out the darn heating trunk, that has just been a pain!!!!!!!!! We had this huge box(small room 6'w x 4'd x 6'h) on wheels down there that was here when we bought the house, we finally demo'd that yesterday. Wow the basement opened up (it was right in the middle of the one side of the basement).

I have already picked out fabric to make the closet drapes for the kids play area. It's black with all primary color circles in different sizes on it. We made this nice long, shallow closet under the heating trunk area since it was so low (5'10" H), to have a place to put all the kids toys and games and some extra blankies on the top shelf (it's gonna be chilly in the winters down there, cause it is awesome cool in the summer).

It's getting there!!!! I am dying to scrapbook again. I just can't be bothered to drag everything up into the kitchen again & I can't do it downstairs with the kids since there is construction going on. One hour during nap time is not gonna cut it for me, it takes me just that to figure out the papers I want to use, LOL! Oh well, maybe by Christmas I will be able to start again :0) I will have more catching up to do than I know what to do with.

Another Aiden First...

I taught Aiden to wave Hi today, he picked it up really quick! I also noticed that he has his left eye tooth breaking through and looks as if the right side is soon to follow. Poor kid, both top front teeth and both eye teeth ripping through all around the same time :0(

This has to be my all time favorite layout in her album, just the layout of the pics and the colors is awesome. This is my dads favorite too.

First Halloween

She was a cheerleader (not the common baby pumpkin, I wanted to be different) I hot glued braided doll hair to a plain headband and tied it to look like pig-tails and made pom poms out of yarn. The costume was an outfit that looked like a chearleader skirt and jacket it was given to her as a gift from my god-mother. I wish the pic of the layout did not have the glares.
